Anritsu's statement with regard to WEEE and RoHS

Anritsu complies with environmental laws including WEEE and RoHS.

WEEE - Take Back System

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment directive (WEEE) affects end-of-life recycling for all electrical and electronic equipment. Anritsu is fully committed to playing its part in the preservation of environment. To that end Anritsu embraces the WEEE Directive (Directive 2002/96/EC) and will honor its obligations under these directives. All items shipped by Anritsu from August 2005 are marked with the WEEE symbol for recycling (commonly known as the 'Crossed-out Wheeled Bin'). This symbol is shown here

For Products placed on the EU market after August 13, 2005, please contact your local Anritsu representative at the end of the product's useful life to arrange disposal in accordance with your initial contract and the local law. Additionally, Anritsu will arrange the take back and disposal of historical waste as defined by the directives where Anritsu is supplying a new product or new equivalent product which fulfils the same function and which replaces an old product (that is one placed on the market prior to August 2005). In all cases, should you require Anritsu to arrange such a take back and disposal please contact your local Anritsu representative. This obligation will be met by Anritsu for any equipment that is sold by Anritsu in the EU area.

RoHS Compliance

Pursuant to the RoHS directive (Directive 2002/95/EC), some products are exempt for high reliability applications for the July 2006 deadline. The exempt products include monitoring and control instruments (category 9). Anritsu's major product lines are currently out of scope of the RoHS Directive. These products are almost all used in R&D facilities, manufacturing facilities, or as field test equipment, and fall within category 9 of the directive. All Anritsu category 9 products that are sold into the EU market will comply with RoHS before the exemption for category 9 products is removed. Anritsu is also working to comply with RoHS directive.

Anritsu strives to give due consideration to the environment in both the development and manufacture of our products. Through sincerity, harmony and enthusiasm we will endeavor to foster a prosperous society at one with nature.

From our factories to our offices, all of us at Anritsu are highly ecology-conscious and deeply committed to making our products and services as green as they possibly can be for the long term.
